A decade of enabling infrastructure: ePLDT celebrates 10 years
The role of Information Technology has never been more significant than it is today, with organizations from diverse industries recognizing its innumerable potentials. And in the Philippines, IT has become an integral part in building businesses, with ePLDT leading the way in bringing the latest IT solutions that boost operational efficiency and overall business growth.
Making IT more accessible and helping organizations reap its benefits has always been one of the driving factors for the founding of ePLDT. Established in 2000 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of telecommunications giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), ePLDT has become a major proponent of IT outsourcing in the country, with a constantly expanding portfolio of services that answer the growing needs of the local and global markets.
After ten years in the industry, ePLDT still remains true to its vision of offering cutting-edge IT solutions. Throughout the decade, ePLDT’s clientele has grown to include large-scale enterprises, small and medium businesses, government agencies and financial institutions, and even the educational sector. Its product catalogue has also evolved to meet the changing needs of its clients, providing them with services that can be mixed and matched to serve the most demanding requirements and ensure operational synergy.
ePLDT’s core business is the VITRO Data Center, the first purposely built Class “A” Internet Data Center in the country that was designed to meet the requirement of users for end-to-end IT infrastructure solutions. ePLDT leverages on VITRO’s robust infrastructure and skilled support engineers to offer outsourced IT services that includes Co-location, Server Hosting, Application Delivery, Disaster Recovery, Network Administration and Data Security Management. Apart from the services offered through VITRO, ePLDT also provides managed IT services and is one of the first Application Service Providers for hosted, IP-based contact center solutions in the country.
For its work in improving businesses through information technology, ePLDT has received acknowledgement from prestigious international organizations. The company was recently named as this year’s recipient of the International Star for Leadership in Quality in the Gold category, a prestigious honor bestowed to companies that demonstrated excellence in leadership in their respective industries as seen in increased market share and sustainability. This award was given by Business Initiative Directions, the leading private organization focused on promoting quality in leading companies across the globe.
